Building International Bridges Through Digital Scholarship: The Trans-Atlantic Platform Digging Into Data Challenge Experience pre-Conference workshop was organized by NEH and SSHRC and supported by CONACYT at the Digital Humanities Conference 2018 in Mexico City, Mexico. This event was an opportunity for T-AP Digging into Data Challenge award holders to exchange with each other and with their funders regarding the progress of their projects and the on-going challenges and opportunities associated with international research collaborations.
The Conference with its theme of Bridges/Puentes provided an ideal context for this workshop, as the Digging into Data Challenge represents a major international collaborative effort amongst 17 funders from 12 countries in Europe and the Americas. The discussions demonstrated how collaboration among the funders enabled collaboration among researchers, building new bridges and reducing barriers at both levels.
The five teams represented at this workshop each gave a brief summary of their projects and discussed their work to date. This was followed by panel discussions of the challenges and opportunities encountered by researchers engaging in international research collaboration and in digital scholarship.
